Today is the last day of the seven-and-a-half-year cycle of studying a page of talmud a day. In honor of that, I will share the very last line of the talmud.

The Tanna debe Eliyahu (a composite work, according to Wikipedia) teaches: whoever learns halacha every day may rest assured of his place in the world to come, for where it says "halikot", "the world is his", we can read instead "halachot". (73a) (This kind of word-play is not uncommon in rabbinic writings, by the way.)

And in case you're wondering about the very first line in the talmud, that's the first mishna of tractate B'rachot, which asks from what time one may recite the sh'ma in the evening and then brings several opinions.

mazel tov!
Just to clarify, I have not personally studied every page of talmud yet; I came in partway through and I haven't hit it every day (though I try to at least get something from every page, even if I'm late). But everybody who's following this program does the same page on any given day, and we just got to the end of a cycle. And tomorrow we'll start again. :-)
